World Water Day

World Water Day is an annual UN observance day that highlights the importance of freshwater. The day is used to advocate for the sustainable management of freshwater resources. World Water Day is celebrated around the world with a variety of events. These can be educational, theatrical, musical or lobbying in nature. SAI International Residential School celebrates this day annually creating awareness in its students of the importance of water conservation and effects on a global scale

World Water Day 2019

Class VII A students enacting a drama “Waste Not” encouraging students to use water sparingly.

It is believed that a drop of water is worth more than a sack of gold to a thirsty man. Today, March 27, 2019, SAI International Residential School observed the World Water Day. It is an annual UN Observance day that accentuates the importance of fresh water. It is celebrated annually on March 22nd around the world. We are surrounded by water and it covers over 70 percent of the earth’s surface and makes up approximately 60 percent of the human body. SIRS held a special assembly, quiz competition and a painting competition relating to water and conservation of the same. Class VII students performed a skit called ” Waste not”, which focused on the importance of water conservation followed by a quiz competition related to water, which was conducted by Loreena a student of class VII.  Classes V to X participated in a conservation of water awareness painting competition on the theme water. The children unleashed their creative skills and put them on paper.
